I am actually happy with health insurance!?!?!
I know, you are all probably saying that I have flipped my lid...  That I am probably sober...  Well, you may be right on the first accord but I am rapidly trying to prove you wrong on the second!!

Why would I be happy?  Well, you remember that little episode last month, December 14th, where I was in the Emergency Room for about 4 hours getting all pumped up with IV treatments and morphine, chest x-rays, and a CT scan, right?  Well, that whole freakin deal cost over $5,100!!  $2,000 just for the CT Scan, not to mention the $300 to $400 for each IV and the $600 bucks in pharmacy charges and the $1,300 just to be in the ER plus a whole lot of other expenses.  I have literally been shitting a brick (for fear I may have to sell the house and build a new one) everyday thinking about the explanation of benefits forms that the insurance company sends out.  These are those forms that usually say something stupid like the following: "Hey, jackass...  We're not paying this bill so you pay it, sucker!" or "we're sorry, this is an unapproved expense, you should have called us to see if it was ok to go to the Emergency Room on a Wednesday evening".

To my utter amazement, as near as I have been able to tell, that whole deal only cost me $225!  $200 was for last years deductible and $25 was for the "emergency room co-pay".  They appear to have paid everything!  And everyone told me that Michelle's insurance sucked...  I can guarantee that my last employers insurance probably would bent me over for almost a $1,000 bucks on that deal!

Cheap premiums, low deductibles, and so far they pay...  Cool!  Now if they would only pay for that injection Michelle needs every year before she gets scanned!  This year Michelle is having money taken out of her check before taxes to help pay for that shot this year...

Wifey Poo Has Returned!
No more Mr. Mom during the week!!  I can handle a couple days here and there, but man, three straight weeks was getting old.  She was getting burnt out on the studying and daily continental breakfasts at the hotel.  She did really well!  She graduated tied for number 3 in her class with a 98% average on class testing.  Her Mom and Dad drove up to Appleton for the graduation.  She got her certificate/diploma and a nice class photo.  She says that she is looking forward to going back to work with all her newly learned ass-kicking skills.  We went out for a fish-fry tonight, kind of like a celebration, but really so we didn't have to screw with dishes!  I am going to a friends house this Saturday night to play some Texas Holdem and drink a couple gallons of beer and forget the last couple of weeks, haha.  I may come home on Sunday.  Not 100% sure on that, yet...

Good job Wifey Poo!

I am on the hunt!! -- UPDATE!!
***UPDATED 2/2/2006****
I am keeping the search active for the CO2 tank and tap stuff.  I very much appreciate the efforts of ACDitchPickle and Floyd in locating some parts.  Securing those parts is a bit harder, haha.  Maybe when the snow melts they can find the CO2 tank, haha!  Thanks again guys, never hurts to ask the readers!!

I am looking to build a draft beer kegging system for the bar refrigerator!  But not so that I can serve up one of the big beer makers 1/4 or 1/2 barrels, nope, I wanna serve up my own beer!  I have had a beer makin kit for about 5 years now and never freakin touched it.  That is gonna stop, soon!

Here is what I am looking for and I am going to ask that my three regular visitors keep their eyes and ears open for me.
  • 2 Cornelius kegs.  These are soda kegs, most often used by Pepsi, that have the "ball-lock" valves.  They each hold 5 gallons, hmmm, coincidence...  A batch of homebrew is 5 gallons.  Haha  Found a joint online that sells these for $24.50 each fully rebuilt and cleaned!  Shipping is only $17 for two kegs.  Unless ah heck b comes up with something, this is probably the way to go.
  • 1 CO2 cylinder.  These come in 5, 10, 15, and 20 pound tanks.  I would like to find at least a 10 pound or greater tank.  I will use more CO2 than a traditional kegger system because I will use the CO2 to help carbonate the beer quicker!!  Smart!!  JK found a 20# tank that will need to get hydro tested.  2/2/2006: The tank has a broken handle and is buried in some snow right now, the search continues...
  • 1 CO2 regulator.  This I will probably have to buy online.  Ideally it will be able to serve two different pressures to the two kegs.  Different beer has different carbonation needs.  If I go with a single regulator, I will have to keep the pressures the same in both tanks, not ideal.  Am finding that this may be best to buy online.  20-30 bucks for a single regulator and upwards of 60 for a dual setup.
  • 2 taps that will go through the side of a refrigerator.  ACDitchPickle may have a line on a tap setup from a buddy that dismantled his setup to store 6'ers of Molson.  2/2/2006: This too is kind of up in the air, we'll say that the search continues here too...
DKHT has already offered a refrigerator, but I have one in the bar.  Two of these "corny" kegs should work out great!  They will pretty much only occupy one half of the fridge and with the shelving I have in there, I will still be able to store some guest beer!!

I figure before I buy a setup online, I would try to config a franken-system myself in the next couple of weeks.  I did some pricing online and it seems that shipping two corny kegs via UPS from the left coast is only about $25 bucks or so.  I guess you just wrap them in cardboard and send them on their way.  So if anyone finds them or has them, let me know a price.  I figure this is worth a shot as a few people read this, haha.

Ding-Dong The Wife Is Gone...AGAIN!!
Woohoo!!  Hahaha...  Just kidding...  She is off to her second week of Correctional Officer training.  It was nice to have her back this weekend!!  Lord knows the dishes needed to be done, laundry, cleaning, shopping, and haircuts needed to be taken care of as well.  Anyone who knows me knows that I am not capable of handling any of that stuff, hehe.

But seriously...  It sounded as though she had a fun time learning new things this past week.  She has definitely gained some skills!  She was practicing on Sammi and I this weekend.  I tried to be a smart ass and clench up when she was trying to get the cuffs on me.  She wasted no time in proving to me that my hand, will in fact, touch the valley of skin betwix my shoulder blades.  Yeah, daddy was a good boy and complied with all the nice officers commands after that.  LOL!!  Later, when we were working on some of the un-cuffing techniques, she had to be nice and not reef my shoulder up so high due to the rotator cuff tear she inflicted on me earlier, haha.  I think she said they were going to get into more advanced stuff this week like handcuffing a combatant.  I better ramp up on my fighting skills this week.  Hmmm, maybe I will invite BP over on Saturday for some beerz and he can go in my place.

One of the books the instructors suggest she read is called Verbal Judo by George Thompson.  I'm thinking that will be a good book for me to read before my next review!

Cool, scary, a must have bookmark for parents!
Someone at work showed me this site last week.  It is cool for its use of the Google mapping technology along with the websites database so that you may pinpoint some rather scary convicted child molesters!  I know that we have a couple of these scuz balls living here in town, but it is scary when you plug in your address and actually get the visualization for how truly close some of these freakin pervs are!

If you're a parent, you might wanna check this out.  Kudos to Family Watchdog for putting up a site like this!!

Eagle River Vintage Snowmobile Races
Spent last weekend in Eagle River for the Vintage Snowmobile Races that were run at the Deckerhead's track!  Their website sucks so bad I won't degrade my own site by linking to them, hehe.  Moron's solicit credit card info via unsecured form and they have more broken links and crappy HTML than you can shake a stick at.  However, the racing, put on by the racers was great!  Had a super good time hanging with BP, Jimmy, Porn Star, Mrs. Porn Star, Joz, Lynn, and all the racers that were coming and going from the Joslin Racing trailer!  Drank an insane amount of beer, shot gigabytes of video (more on that in a minute), and took nearly a gigabyte of digital photos!

About the video...  I slipped and fell on the ice Sunday (beer was not a factor, hehe) and while my ankle and lower leg is fubar'd, my Sony Digital 8 camera may have suffered the most.  It hit the snow and there was snow packed in little nooks and crannies.  A guy I work with suggested that I not even power it on for a week.  I am going to heed his advise as he is a video and photography guru.  The pictures that I snapped with the Canon S2 IS turned out AWESOME!!!  It was a little overcast and most of the images need some contrast tweaking, but I am really happy with the results.  BP came over to pick up a couple cd's loaded with pics and he was pretty happy too.  I am going to try to get a page together for his site, VintageTwister.com, in the next couple of days.

BP's old sled finished 2nd in the 440 stock fan class with Porn Star on the mount!  Way to go PS!!  Craig Lindberg from Rhinelander schooled the field with his 340 Merc Trail-Twister!!  That sucker was hooked up!!

Oh yeah...  This was funny, typical of the folks that run the event, but not necessarily surprising!!

dumaz deckerheads!

Charter Communications SUCKS!!
I may be switching to DSL this week.  It seems that my cable modem has decided that it likes to reset itself all the time and keep my connection farted up.  Charter says they can come...  ON JANUARY 31st!!  I may be delayed in replying to e-mail and/or updating this site.

Stayed tuned...  Oh yeah, forgot!  Happy New Beer!!

Keep a tight one... (Thanks Jimmy)
