I had meant to get out here and post a message a few days after Sam's birthday but have totally forgotten about it. I was posting a couple posts on my blog this morning and figured, crap, better get caught up here too. Sam had a great birthday! She got a 16 gig iPod Touch. One gig for every year. Worked out pretty good, hehe. That is a cool little gadget! I am not a big fan of Apple crap and Steve Jobs is an a-hole, but this think was pretty cool! The Safari browser is pretty neat. Viewing web pages is nice! Had no problem getting it hooked up to the wifi at home, only had to add the MAC address to the router. Sam doesn't have 100's of gigs of music or anything, so the size for now is good. She's loaded up some of her favorite pictures and tunes and is happy as can be. Makes me lust for an iPhone now. And now since Cellone has been purchased by AT&T, it may one day, become reality. If only AT&T had MyCircle like Alltel does. Man, with the MyCircle and nights and weekends starting at 7pm, we only ever use a couple hundred minutes of our "anytime" minutes in a month. I never talk that much on the phone anyway, I just use it for the data plan so I can surf the web, get email, and take car of my server if need be. Michelle and I are gearing up for a "date day" over in Rhinelander today. She is up at the Sheriff's Department working out and will be home shortly. We'll go do shopping and stuffs and stop in for a Bucketheads' World Famous Garlic Cheese Burger. By the way, the owner of that website, BarAndRestaurantCentral.com is a friend of mine. If you want your bar and/or restaurant setup on his site, tell him Paul sent ya! Maybe I will get a kickback!! Hahaha Diet has kind of stalled. But I think it is just a bump in the road. We had a couple bad weeks there and are back on track, with the exception of this afternoon. Michelle lost 3 more in the past couple weeks. I gained a few, but then lost them. All is good! Got sick there for a while, pretty much everyone has had it in some form or another. Michelle has to have a CT Scan this week. She has a polyp in her sinus cavity that they found a few years ago. It is causing her some problems, so they want to see if it is getting bigger. If so, they may have to send chisels and air hammers up her nose to bust it out. Not fun... So, send the good positive ju-ju Michelle's way this week. The one good thing is, she really likes the doctor. This is the same surgeon that did both surgeries to remove the cancerous thyroid. This is his specialty. I dunno what else to say... Nothing that I haven't already said over at the other blog. |

| Happy Birthday Sam!!! | ||

My little girl is 16 today!! Wow! It was about this time of the day, 10-10:30 AM or so, that I finally got up to the hospital to be with Michelle. My dispatcher called me on the radio and said "42, you need to swing that rig around and get up to Waukesha Memorial Hospital, your wife is in labor". I dropped off my big-truck at the terminal and everyone in the office was like, "why aren't you up there yet? why didn't you go straight there?". It was our first kid, I knew Sam wasn't gonna come out that quick! So, I topped off my monster-sized thermos mug with coffee, jumped into my old pickup and made the 5-10 minute drive to the hospital. Michelle worked the previous night and told me in the morning not to take any out of town runs that day, she was going to see the doctor that morning and felt cramping all night long while she was working. I didn't even make it to the Marquette interchange in downtown Milwaukee, from Waukesha! At a few minutes after 5:00 PM that day, I was cutting Sam's umbilical cord, and we were all welcoming her into the world. She came three weeks early, so as a precaution, they kept her in an oxygen tent dealie so that her lungs would get pure oxygen and so that she wouldn't have to work so hard at breathing with her not yet, fully developed lungs. All was good! Afterwards, Michelle was zonked out, she worked third shift the night before and then blew out every blood vessel in her face pushing Sam out, haha. She was in labor all night long, while working, and never realized it was labor! Being so exhausted up at the hospital was probably to her benefit; she would take little 20-30 minute naps throughout the day. I hung out, watched TV and watched the neonatal monitoring belt that they had on her. I could see her contractions while she slept. It was cool! You could see the spikes get progressively bigger too! I was amazed that she was able to sleep through some of those. My how things change... No longer a truck driver, 12+ years into an IT career. No longer living in Waukesha County. Have another kid, Mike! After this Presidential election, Sam will be allowed to vote in the next one (hopefully there will be a better selection of candidates). She'll likely have her drivers license by the end of summer. She'll likely get a job this summer and we'll start seeing her less and less. In a few short years, she'll be 18 and an adult. Knowing how fast the years come and go, now that I am older, I suspect once I save and publish this, I will have to get busy on her 17th bday wishes, haha. HAPPY 16th BIRTHDAY SAM!! We all love you very much!! |

Jeez... "What no posting..." "you post there, not here..." I am a man, not a machine, hahaha!! I need to hire a blogger to blog for me! Ok, so yeah, I do neglect this space. That's only because I like my blog space mo' betta!! If you keep up with the other site, you may have seen the post about how we're torturing Sam by having her 16th birthday gift sit on the kitchen counter for a few days before she is allowed to open it up. We're so mean!! Maybe Sam will think she can come to this site and not see a reminder, well, I am here to say, not so my dear child... ![]() Oh yeah!! If any of you are waiting on email replies from me, it may be coming. I am trying to get caught up this weekend. Got behind, yikes... GIANT SNOWBALL!!! If yer impatient, shoot me a reminder. You know, squeaky wheel gets the grease... Oh yeah, one more thing... Congrats to my Nephew, Brian, and his girlfriend. They made me a Great-Uncle today and had a bouncing baby boy named Evan Scott. The best part in all that is that Michelle's YOUNGER sister is a Grandmother, hahahahahahaha!!!!!!! |

Keep a tight one... (Thanks Jimmy)
